RevivaSeal Overview

RevivaSeal is a new maintenance formulation specifically designed to restore and maintain the look of your aging StreetPrint driveway. RevivaSeal maintenance coating allows you to accent your own driveway in an affordable, durable, and easy to install way.

RevivaSeal is not considered a commercial grade coating and should not be used on new or previously seal coated asphalt. RevivaSeal is only recommended as a top coat over previously coated StreetPrint surfaces. If you require more product information or technical support call our StreetPrint Technical Support line at 1.800.688.5652 ext. 264.

Recommended Tools

Installation tools are not included in your coating order, however there are a number of items that we recommend you use when recoating your driveway. You can find these items at most home improvement or hardware stores.

The following is a list of recommended items:

Item

Quantity

Zep All Purpose Cleaner and Degreaser 1
Split foam roller, ⅜ pile 2
Roller frame 1
Blue broom head 1
Bucket screen grid 1
Safety gloves 2
Broom pole 1

Surface Preparation

Adequate surface preparation prior to recoating is very important to ensure proper adhesion, otherwise your recoat job will not be successful. RevivaSeal coatings should only be applied to clean surfaces. The following 4 steps should be followed when preparing your driveway prior to recoat.

  1. Remove Dirt

You may either use an air blower or broom to remove any loose dirt from the surface that is to be recoated.
  2. Remove Any Localized Contamination

Using Zep cleaner, remove grease and oil prior to recoating.
  3. Clean the Entire Surface

Apply Zep cleaner liberally with brush broom ensuring to scrub off any dirt from the surface. After scrubbing the surface clean, wash off the entire surface area with either a pressure washer or garden hose. Ensure the surface is completely dry before proceeding to the next step.
  4. Apply Primer

Dilute primer with water at a 1:1 ratio (one part of primer to one part of water). Insert bucket screen grid into the bucket of primer and dip the split sponge roller into the bucket rolling off excess primer using the grate. Roll primer onto the entire surface applying a light coat. The primer will appear to be a light blue color at first, and then will become transparent as it dries. It is recommended to apply the recoat coating after the primer is dry to touch.

Coating Installation

Mixing Instructions

You must mix RevivaSeal coating as per mixing instructions printed on the coating pail before applying the recoat coating. Add colorant to the coating and mix with a paint mixer for 3 minutes. Product may be reused if stored in a well sealed container. Mix well before each use. Do not add water to the coating mixture.

Note: Under high temperatures 70°F and rising, make sure you mix only one pail at a time as the coating may harden prematurely.

First Coat

Use a split foam roller or equivalent to apply the first coat. Attach roller to roller frame and attach to wooden broomstick.

Dip roller into coating and roll off excess coating on bucket screen grid. Apply coating to the asphalt surface with roller, using a uniform up and down painting motion. Coat driveway beginning in a corner and work towards the parallel corner. Coat area using a two foot wide section and ensure that the entire area has a light layer of uniform thickness. Do not over apply in any one section.

Second Coat

The second coat can be installed after the first one is dry to touch. Do not apply second coat while the first coat is still wet.

Repeat installation instructions for the first coat.

Borders

If your original recoat job included borders with different colors, it is possible to recoat these as well using a roller and after the final coat of the primary section is dry to touch.

Follow the recoat mixing instruction from above and apply the recoat coating to the borders. It is ideal to mask or tape off areas adjacent to borders to produce a clean edge look.

Coating Conditions

Only apply the coating if the air temperature is above 50°F AND RISING. If you are applying the coating in the afternoon check to make sure the air temperature will not drop below 50°F overnight. Avoid installing in 90°F or higher air temperature in direct sunlight as coating will dry too quickly.

Important Notice

Once you have completed the recoat installation ensure that the driveway is free of any traffic or wear for 24 hours to ensure proper curing time.
